The Whitby Pirate Festival is an annual festival held in the North Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby. Filled with swashbuckling buccaneers and chattering parrots this fun-filled, family-friendly festival isn’t to be missed! From pirates invading the town, to stalls, displays, live music, and hot food – the whole festival is an action-packed couple of days.

The event takes place throughout Whitby, but you’ll find most of the pirates congregating down by the harbour. 2024 marks the 20th year of the festivals organisers, the Whitby Pirate Society and you can definitely be sure to expect a bigger and more extravagant celebration this year! The festival helps raise much needed funds for the RNLI.

  • Group photo on board the endeavour

  • Best dressed pirate competition

  • Mermaid meet and greet
