Whitby is home to many alternative festivals in the UK, including the Whitby Goth Festival and the Whitby Steampunk Weekend. Much like its sister festival, the Whitby Steampunk Festival is one of the biggest steampunk festivals in the UK as it spreads throughout the entirety of our seaside town in North Yorkshire. Over the course of the festival Whitby is transformed into a whirlwind of creativity and retro-futuristic charm!

Although The Whitby Steampunk Weekend is spread across Whitby, the main Steampunk Retail Emporium is set up within the Whitby Pavillion. Within the 14,000ft pavilion, visitors can watch live performances and browse over seventy trade stalls. These stalls offer an eclectic mix of wares, including apparel, accessories, home décor, jewellery and clothing inspired by the steampunk subculture.

A notable feature of The Whitby Steampunk Weekend, is that it is an accessible festival. As a free event held in North Yorkshire (with plenty of access ramps), this steampunk festival is truly an inclusive celebration open to all!
