Whitby Folk Festival is one of the many annual festivals held in our beautiful seaside town! This week-long arts festival is a celebration of all things folk - where music, dance, and culture come together in a celebration of Celtic tradition! This popular festival has quickly become a much-loved event amongst folk enthusiasts from around the world!

Live music and dancing

Whitby Folk Week festival features a diverse program of events, including live performances by renowned folk artists, traditional dance sessions, workshops, and storytelling sessions for folk lovers of all ages to enjoy. Many of the performances are inspired by local folklore from across North Yorkshire - from tales of Dracula arriving in Whitby Harbour, sea shanties inspired by pirates and even songs inspired by Whitby’s tapestry of rich history.

There will be a host of workshops on offer throughout the festival, providing the perfect chance to get involved. We can guarantee that regardless of your previous dance experience, you are sure to have a laugh when you participate in a ceilidh or contra! All workshops are led by a selection of skilled professional artists, dancers, and musicians. What’s more, there are many family-friendly and dedicated workshops for children – allowing for the whole family to get involved with the festivities.

Where to stay

We have a selection of spacious caravan pitches with views of Whitby Abbey or the North Yorkshire coast on offer at Whitby Holiday Park. Our coastal pitches allow guests to wake to birdsong and fresh salty sea air - the perfect way to start a day full of folky charm!

We also have a selection of modern static caravans available to hire, allowing guests to rest in luxury. These well-equipped holiday homes provide a comfortable retreat after a day filled with folk music and dance.

Whitby Holiday Park is ideally located for those wishing to experience an immersive folk experience in a stunning coastal setting. The town centre is a 20 minute walk away.
