Live music and dancing
Whitby Folk Week festival features a diverse program of events, including live performances by renowned folk artists, traditional dance sessions, workshops, and storytelling sessions for folk lovers of all ages to enjoy. Many of the performances are inspired by local folklore from across North Yorkshire – from tales of Dracula arriving in Whitby Harbour, sea shanties inspired by pirates and even songs inspired by Whitby’s tapestry of rich history.
There will be a host of workshops on offer throughout the festival, providing the perfect chance to get involved. We can guarantee that regardless of your previous dance experience, you are sure to have a laugh when you participate in a ceilidh or contra! All workshops are led by a selection of skilled professional artists, dancers, and musicians. What’s more, there are many family-friendly and dedicated workshops for children – allowing for the whole family to get involved with the festivities.
Although the exact line-up changes each year, you can be sure that you’ll have a fantastic experience when you attend Whitby Folk Week!
